Bugger. Got the brush-off from Rachel this morning.

She “didn’t feel that spark” and thinks “it’s too soon for some big new relationship which I’m just not ready for”.

Oh well, nice girl and all that, but I’m not actually all that bothered about it. Which is definitely a good thing.

On the plus side, I ended up sharing a cab home last night (at 2.30am!) with a girl who lives on the next street. She’d just been on a disastrous date, so we shared notes. Seemed nice enough. Walked her to her door and swapped numbers. Might ask if she fancies a swift pint at t’local sometime.

Note for any budding Lotharios - if you’re out on a date and the girl in question comes back to your place, do not (a) show her the damp mouse-infested cellar, or (b) ply her with nasty cheap wine.
